QB Review

'The Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent' is Abraham's latest book, and was released in 2005. In common with their other books, it discusses the 'theory' of deliberate creation, together with a range of methods for putting it into practice, in order to generate outstanding results in your life. In many ways it could be considered a sequel to their bestselling 'Ask and it is Given', as many of the concepts and processes introduced in AAIIG are discussed in more depth here, but it also stands alone, and anyone who is new to Abraham could gain an excellent understanding of what they're about just by reading this book.

What's in it?

The book begins with a foreword by Louise Hay and introductory sections by both Jerry and Esther. The first 12 chapters then discuss the vibrational nature of our experience and drum home the fact that life should be fun, and that we have the power to create the lives we desire, if we'll just learn to follow our emotional guidance systems, and consistently make our way up the emotional scale, until we reach full alignment with our Source, or 'who we really are'. In this place, all of our desires manifest easily. This is fantastic material, really uplifting and inspiring!

In subsequent chapters (up to chapter 31), they then go on to discuss specific ways in which we can align with our Source energy. The focus is on improving our 'vibrational relativity' to our desires in the areas of physical health, home, work, relationships, money, world affairs and government.

The remaining 15 chapters then walk the reader through the application of some of the processes that were first discussed in AAIIG to these major issues (these processes are fully explained here, so you don't need to have read AAIIG first).

After this main part of the book, you'll find about 60 pages of transcripts from a 2005 Abraham seminar, in which Abraham answers some questions from guests on topics such as money, work, relationships, health, religion and much more. Their 'New Beginning' books also had similar (very enjoyable) transcript sections, so it's great to see them again here.

What's it like?

IMO, this is a fantastic book, and is my personal favourite of all of the Abraham-Hicks books - although they're all excellent and it's difficult to pick one over the others! It provides a very in-depth discussion of the principles, yet the tone is so light and engaging that it never feels like 'heavy reading', in the way that books of this genre sometimes do. Abraham's love and humour come across consistently, and the whole book has this fantastic aura of well-being about it!

It's very useful to see detailed breakdowns of some of the processes, and how Abraham applies them to specific situations and problems. Of course, you don't have to follow their exact method when using the processes yourself, but it's interesting to read nonetheless.

The transcript section is one of the best parts, as it covers issues that are significant to many people, and if you've never been to a seminar, or listened to an Abraham recording, it gives a glimpse into the type of topics that are commonly discussed.

Summary

In summary, I'd strongly recommend this book to anyone who is willing to accept total responsibility for their life, and who wants to learn to control the awesome creative power that we all possess, and use it to create only the life of their dreams, while releasing any old negative patterns and limiting beliefs. The implication of Abraham's message is clear: we are all aspects of that power which some people call 'God' (don't worry - they don't use the word 'God much, and are not at all 'religious'), and if we learn to harness our true power, we can be, do or have anything we desire. This book shows you how, step by step. Total newcomers to the Abraham material might prefer to start with 'Ask and it is Given', but this book will benefit everyone who is attracted to it, newcomers and seasoned 'deliberate creators' alike!

I haven't yet listened to the audio book version (read by Jerry), but I can say that I have a lot of Abraham CDs, and their quality is consistently outstanding.
